Welcome to our site. We have a farm in North Iceland by the arctic circle named Harðbakur (Hardback). Our land lies to the sea and this is where the Eiders or Sea ducks come to lay their eggs. The history of eiderdown harvesting is closely linked to Icelands hitstory. At our farm we are the 3rd generation harvesting eiderdown. In 1847 the eider became fully protected species in Iceland.
